Not only did we implement an on-campus calling program in a number of weeks – we doubled the number of commitments and dollars pledged in our second phonathan, less than six months after the first. Eastern Virginia Medical School was pleasantly surprised at the end of their calling program to have exceeded their goals by 10% and have an average gift per donor of $800.00!

Connie McKenzie, Director of Development at EVMS, shares how they were able to secure major gifts during the program:
“At the end of our first calling program with Harris Connect, we’d exceeded our projected pledges by 10%.  What’s not in that number, however, are the major gifts we were able to secure as a result of the company’s prospect screening efforts. Using their metrics, they identified likely major gift donors and then pre-qualified them for us by phone. We began building the relationship further from there, and as a result received a gift of $50,000 and another for $25,000 in addition to several others.” 

Connie goes on to talk about their experience partnering with Harris Connect:
“We used to have a student run phonathon, and while that worked well for us we knew we weren’t going as deeply into our list of potential donors as we could be. There are just so many hours in a day, and having Harris Connect as a partner really helps us leverage our opportunities in the most effective way.
