"Harris Connect helped us with our last capital campaign in the early 2000s, so they were the natural choice for us this time around. They started by reaching out to 45,000 of our members by email and post, and then followed up by phone. By the time we were two-thirds of the way through – we’d already almost reached our pledge goal. Not only were we getting a great response, we were getting donations that were larger than expected. Members who typically pay $60 to $120 per year for their memberships were pledging an average of $320 for our capital ask, and those with $175 or higher memberships were consistently pledging $1,000 or more. We even had several members make $5,000 and $10,000 pledges right over the phone. We were so happy with the results we added 15,000 more members to the outreach and extended the calling program from January into April."
