The Bernard C. Harris Memorial Scholarship is a great way to help a worthy student, and to earn a matching $1,000 gift for your school. This scholarship is administered through the Guidance Departments of accredited Catholic High Schools across the country. Schools may accept as many applications as they can, however, only one application will be accepted by Harris Connect. Therefore, Guidance Departments must review all entries and nominate only one student to represent the school. If multiple entries are received, all entries will be returned. Entries will only be accepted from the Guidance Departments. Interested students should go through their Guidance Departments if they would like to be considered.
Applying for our Scholarship is as easy as 1-2-3!
- Download as many scholarship applications as you need. Applicants must be high school seniors, enrolled full-time in a Catholic High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA or a B.
- Set a deadline of February 23, 2008 for eligible students to return completed applications to you, including the application form, student essay and the entrepreneurship form.
- Narrow down your choices to your single best candidate. Only one candidate per school will be accepted. Send in your candidate’s complete application to Harris Connect. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 21, 2008.
To be considered, all the following pieces must be completed and enclosed with your submission:
- Student Application Form
- Student Essay
- Student Entrepreneurship Form
- Official School Transcript
- Guidance Recommendation Form
Scholarship may be applied to accredited four-year or two-year colleges. Awards are granted for one year only, and students may apply only once. Families of employees of Harris Connect are not eligible. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 21, 2008. Only one application per school will be accepted.
Students selected to receive the scholarship will be notified in writing. One check will be sent to the student, made payable jointly to the college and the student, and another check will be sent to the high school. Student funds are to be used to help defray the cost of tuition, room and board, books, lab fees, equipment and related expenses.
